THINK-FULL THANKSGIVING
Hey Fam,
Dropping by this holiday season wishing you and your family/friends a Happy Thanksgiving. Take some time today no matter how you chose to spend the day reflecting on ways you are thankful and express gratitude. There are many things fighting to rob us of our peace or heart of thankfulness daily, but we can make a choice to allow the good to outweigh the bad.
As you reflect over the year thus far (the good, bad or indifferent), what are you thankful for today? I encourage you to take a “THINK-FULL” approach to your reflection today.
Direct your mind and heart towards God’s unconditional love for you. May His peace, love and joy surround you every day.
Think (direct one's mind toward someone or something; use one's mind actively to form connected ideas.)
Full (not lacking or omitting anything; complete)
"Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things." ~ Psalm 107:8-9
Have a Happy “THINK-FULL” Thanksgiving?
Activity Suggestion for today if you are gathering with family, friends or community:
“Help Me Fill My Cup”
Supplies Needed-
Sticky Notes (can substitute with strips of paper or index cards cut in half)
Cups (any size paper/plastic cups enough for everyone to get 1 cup)
Pens/Markers/Paint/Color Pencils (for writing/optional decorating)
Add other items for decorative purposes if you will decorate the outside of your cups
Instructions:
Give everyone an empty/blank cup, something to write with and a handful of sticky notes or paper (enough to write something for each person participating in activity)
Once everyone has a cup, they can write their names at the bottom of their cup
On the front of the cup write “Help Me Fill My Cup”
Optional: Add a scripture on the back of cup to read to yourself on days you feel empty
Have participants write on a sticky note to place in each person’s cup one of the following (word of encouragement, a pick me up song to listen to, something you appreciate about the person or a good/funny memory) *sign your name on note*
Participants walk around the room and drop a note in each person’s cup (may need to fold note so that each person’s note can fit in cup)
After everyone’s cup is full, optional share aloud (have participants read ONE note from their now full cup)
Close activity: Pray over each person’s cup that on days when they are feeling low/empty/or just need a reminder, that they can go back to their cup and be refilled. Pray that they will find strength in prayer, reading of scripture, listening to worship songs or just sitting in God’s presence and pray as Holy Spirit leads you.
Talk to you soon,
Ky
