GENERATIONAL GIFTS & BLESSINGS

Hey Fam,

Have you ever found yourself reflecting on your life and scanning your bloodline to see what gifts/blessings rest on you and your family? It’s so easy for us to pinpoint the negative thoughts, patterns or behaviors that show up from generation to generation; however, we need to look just as closely at the gifts/blessings that rest on our families. In times of coming into awareness of who we are in Christ, it’s easy for us to talk ourselves out of who God says we are and what we are to become. There are unique gifts that God has placed on the inside of us, and we honestly often allow those gifts to lie dormant. We wrestle with who God says we are and allow fear, doubt or the feeling of inadequacy to cause us to remain in a state of stagnation. 

Can I encourage you today? There are generational gifts/blessings that rest on you and your family that God is waiting for you to fully access and to walk confidently. YOU may be the one He uses as a vessel to help stir up those gifts in others. When we try to do things in our own strength, it may feel like we keep hitting a brick wall. Whatever we do, we have to make sure that it’s done in love and that we are Spirit-led. 

When we find ourselves in seasons of uncertainty, sometimes we need a reminder. I was reminded of this passage of scripture where Paul is speaking to Timothy: 

5-7 That precious memory triggers another: your honest faith—and what a rich faith it is, handed down from your grandmother Lois to your mother Eunice, and now to you! And the special gift of ministry you received when I laid hands on you and prayed—keep that ablaze! God doesn’t want us to be shy with his gifts, but bold and loving and sensible. 2 Timothy 1:5-7 MSG

What has been handed down or imparted to you? God has the power to break generational curses and has given you the freedom to walk in generational gifts/blessings. Seek His face, and ask Him to show you what rests on you and your family.
